Quotes and Reviews

Jane DeCuir burns the Maria Muldaur-Bonnie Raitt candle with back-porch ease and a confident lilt in her distinctively penetrating voice. Her wryly funny songs, colored by a light but knowing heart, travel the blue desert roads of romance, and you get to share the scenery.

Better than Taylor Swift:
I am a huge fan of Taylor Swift. I have all of her CDs. But Jane's album is better than all of Taylor Swift's combined!

Jane's voice just captures you and pulls you in making you want to be a part of her world. She has the ability to both move you and soothe you, at the same time. An extraordinary performer.

Long BioWith roots in her father's favorites—Louis Jordan, Sarah Vaughan, Gene Krupa—Jane's music evolves through the decades to form her personal blend of Americana.

On the other side of Jane's childhood bedroom wall, her father's giant mono-speaker blasted all the Big Band greats—Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Stan Kenton, Anita O'Day. These were Jane's lullabies and formed the base rhythms for the rest of her life. Having three older brothers deeply into rock and roll, she later soaked up everything they listened to, from Zappa to Hendrix, Joni Mitchell.

Great artists counsel to start where you are when creating. An important part of where Jane started was her father's Creole family from Louisiana. Creoles enjoy cooking with everything available, and they always give everyone a lagniappe, or a little extra. Jane's music is like that, delicious blends of the music she loves, served up with a little extra.

It's clear that performing is a pleasure for Jane. Accompanying herself on guitar for her solo concerts, Jane engages her audience with heartfelt, innocent joy and depth of feeling.
